Learning outcomes

The student can:

- Apply the laws of thermodynamics in physical systems

- Apply magnetic laws (ie. Lorentz's force, Ampere's law, Faraday's and Lenz' law) to moving charges and electromechanical systems.

- Describe the difference between different types of waves and determine their important characteristics in a given situation

- Determine the propagation of light and sound waves through various materials / media and apply the understanding of phenomena that can occur while propagating      through those media due to the nature of waves by calculating their behaviour

Content

In this course you will acquire the basics of physics, together with the course ‘Physics 1’. Knowledge of physics is necessary for courses later on in your study, but also for semester projects.

The course consists of six lectures and four practical lessons (three tutorials and a lab).
