In this course, you will develop a validated product or service based on an identified need or problem. You will also assess its economic viability. The course introduces you to the core principles of design thinking and provides insight into the financial aspects of a business plan.
Key topics include all stages of the design thinking process (empathy, definition, ideation, prototyping, testing, and implementation), as well as essential financial concepts such as break-even analysis, operating leverage, cost price calculation, and budget variance.
Throughout the course, you will be supported by learning activities that help you apply the theory in practice. Generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools are used to support learning and skill development. By the end of the course, you will understand how the design thinking process and financial analysis support effective business plan decision-making.
