Healthcare faces a number of challenges both in the Netherlands and internationally.
In the elective module internationalization, students can research themes from international healthcare in groups. It is clear that different countries make different choices. This can be related to financial possibilities, but also to culture and political choices. During this elective module, the situation in another country (or countries) can be compared with the Dutch one. This is done during this module by organizing a study trip. In recent years, students have been to Sweden, England, Germany and Belgium, Norway, for example. Visiting healthcare institutions and/or policy-making bodies on site provides a nuanced picture.
Own direction and responsibility.
The study trip is organized by the students themselves and you as a group are responsible for the success of the trip. This starts with establishing contacts and dividing up tasks. Making good agreements is essential here.
Additional costs
For the elective module internationalization, additional costs will often be incurred, many of which are not covered by regular financing. Take into account a personal contribution (possibly partly by the employer). The cost aspect (and financing) must be included in a planning/budget.
