4.3 Students reflect on their own working methods, and understand the implications of choices and decisions, which they can explain retrospectively both to colleagues and to individuals working outside the field.
4.6 Students conduct research in a structured manner on issues that are connected to their professional practice.
Content
In the fourth and last semester of the program you work towards a final, integrated demonstration of your professional practice in which you show the learning outcomes of the program at master level. You make a plan for this in which your vision as an engaged musician with a reflective, curious and entrepreneurial mindset and your artistic products come together. The demonstration can take on many forms: a performance, a concert or recital, a workshop, an artistic presentation, combinations of all that, etc. and is always accompanied by a portfolio that you build up throughout your studies.
During the Practice Based Research course in semester four supervision and coaching focuses on your specific questions and needs concerning the research aspects of your professional practice, and the way it is integrated in your final demonstration and/or portfolio. For this, you revise and complete the research report based on feedback from the PBR-coaches. In this last phase of the programme, it is important to frequently reflect on the whole process; whether your research aims and questions are in line with the chosen research methodology, your findings and conclusions.
