Content

Content of the course component:
‘This Body of Knowledge focuses on the impact of sport and exercise on society and what role sport can play in relation to quality of life, health and economy and what the appropriate interventions are that can achieve social impact.’

Students learn different theories regarding the fast developing world of social impact & (top)sports (Public Value Creation, SROI, Logic Framwork, SDG, CSR, CSRD and the Theory of Change).

The course looks at the social costs and benefits of sport and how better (policy) decisions can be made based on this information. This involves looking at the interventions or aspects of sport that should be invested in to pursue specific policy objectives. Attention is also paid to the social aspects that come into play when implementing integral and multi-sectoral sports policy.

Students play a leading role in developing communities and networks that impact the interfaces between sports' economic value, health value and social value and will conduct evaluations and provide advice based on current developments and state-of-the-art knowledge of the strategies and policies adopted by sports and exercise organisations and programmes.
