Inhoud
Body of Knowledge and Skilss (BKS) is a course in which students build an interdisciplinary frame of reference that supports their work across the MIBP programme. The course is organized around the Body of Knowledge and Skills (BOKS), which is structured into six themes: Transition Management, Sustainability, New Business & ICT, Globalisation & Localisation, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Organisational Design & Change.
Through workshops, guest lectures, guided reading, and case-based discussions, students engage with key theories, models, and concepts within each theme. They learn to move from broader perspectives toward the more specific lenses needed for their Innovation Assignment and master's Thesis. A central focus is the ability to compare and critically evaluate alternative theories, models, and conceptualizations rather than simply reproduce them.
Students apply these skills to a business case, analyzing the situation from a business perspective while drawing on relevant fields within the BOKS. They interpret choices made within the case in relation to the relevant literature and develop evidence-based conclusions and recommendations.
The course concludes with an individual oral exam in which students demonstrate their command of the BOKS themes and their ability to reason across disciplines.
This course contributes to SDGs 4, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12 and 13
