At the end of this module the student is able to:
expected to show the following knowledge and skills:- research and analyse a given straightforward engineering problem and design a solution for it .
- based on the problem analysis, select, read and process sensor data .
- program a (control) system to perform smart reactions to the sensor data/signals.
- report on the research, design, implementation, and testing in a technical report or paper.
define the areas in which the student needs to strengthen in order to achieve the above mentioned skills. Depending on their prior education and knowledge, students are expected to set their own learning goals, discuss these with a tutor, explain them, and evaluate them.

The course covers the following topics:
The students have different educational backgrounds when entering the Smart Systems Engineering master. The goal of this project is to bring all students to a common level on a variety of topics. The idea is that students that are lacking in certain areas will improve their skills in those and will be helped by the ones that have already skills in those areas. The students will select those areas beforehand together with the project supervisor, who will monitor the student’s progress.
